This variety of Meteorite is called a pallasite. It is the kind that has olivine crystals embedded inside a nickel iron or stony iron matrix. This slice is from a meteorite that fell in 1951 in Esquel Argentina. It is considered one of the most stable, high quality pallasites, and is quite sought after because of that. This piece is almost completely olivine. Although small, it is pretty mind blowing to imagine this came from the core of a rare asteroid.
