This unusual example of dendritic silver from Michigan, is a rare find. It is made up of intergrown elongated silver crystals up to 1 cm long in dendritic growth. It formed in a thin fissure amongst Nonesuch shale. Some remnants remain of the black shale. Typically when specimens are found in a seam of shale, the silver is totally flat and not as well crystallized as this example. The silvers have an attractive reddish patina. From Bob Nowakowski's collection. First two pictures are of the front and back. It is currently mounted on a lucite base. It's in excellent condition.
