A large, well formed, complete single Almandine crystal from Colorado slightly covered by chlorite schist. From MINDAT: 'A Cu-Pb-Zn-Au-Ag occurrence/mine located 4 miles north of Salida, discovered in the early 1880s and worked intermittently until 1923. The Sedalia was the largest copper mine in Colorado, producing also zinc and a bit of gold and silver. The Sedalia Mine is well known among mineral collectors as a source for good specimens, particularly the large, euhedral almandine garnets weighing up to fifteen pounds'.
