Cut and polished Iolite gemstone with a rich blue color similar to Tanzanite or Sapphire. Iolite is the gemstone name for the mineral Cordierite. A transparent purple/blue oval cabachon gem weighing 10.45 carats. Iolite is strongly pleochroic is sometimes called 'water sapphire' as it can display a blue to violet color in one direction and be pale yellow to colorless in another.
