Sapphirine gemstone 6mm wide, weighs 0.5-carats and is from Kolonne village, Ratnapura, Sri Lanka. The label on the box indicates the cut stone cost $100 back in 1989. Because of the dark color of the crystals, it is rare to find faceted Sapphirine with such transparency.
