While looking through flats of minerals I aquired from the Chuck Trantham collection, I came across this specimen of what I thought was a really neat Copper specimen, labelled 'Copper-Silver, Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan'. However closer inspection revealed a core of twisted copper wire. It appears this was created by tacking a torch to a mass of Copper wire and melting it to look like a natural specimen. An old and interesting fake I've not seen before. So here you go, I know some people have a subcollection of faked specimens.
