Yellow crystals of Liebigite, a rare uranium mineral, lining a vug in matrix. According to MINDAT, the Schwartzwalder uranium deposit, in the Front Range west of Denver, Colorado, is the largest vein-type uranium deposit in the United States. Named in honor of Justus Freiherr von Liebig, a chemist who is considered one of the principal founders of analytical and organic chemistry.
