Green 'Trinitite' specimen (Quartz and Feldspar) formed by the world’s first atomic bomb, which was detonated on July 16, 1945, at the White Sands Missile Range. The test was known as Project Trinity. Sand in the vicinity of the explosion was fused by the intense heat into a green glass-like solid, and was called Trinitite. This locality is off limits to collecting. Ex. Chuck Trantham collection.
