Transparent blue Gahnite crystal, the zinc rich end member and one of the rarer species in the Spinel group of minerals. A complete octahedron with no damage, one of the sharper most perfect crystals I've had of this material. It's also transparent internally aside from some internal imperfections. These were first discovered in 2001 and are found mostly of industrial quality. Though they don't get very large, the color is spectacular.
