Sixteen specimens of the rare mineral Grandidierite. I usually auction these 1 at a time - this is a special offering of a large lot.
The lot weighs 121 carats and consists of translucent crystal sections with a good blue green color.
Grandidierite is a rare magnesium aluminum borosilicate first discovered in 1902 in the Anosy Region of Madagascar. Crystals
are very rare and ususally the best you can hope for are some crystal faces. Grandidierite often appears on lists of the 10 rarest gems
in the world.
