Rare partial crystal of Grandidierite. When you can find any, Grandidierite specimens are almost
always just massive pieces. Though non-terminated, this is a crystal with some striated prism faces present.
Grandidierite is a rare magnesium aluminum borosilicate first discovered in 1902 in the Anosy
Region of Madagascar and often appears on lists of the 10 rarest gems in the world. Highly translucent
with great blue green color. Weighs 1.8 grams.
