Fossilized tree sap containing inclusions of well preserved insects. There are all kinds of bugs in here including small flying insects, mosquitos, a small spider, and well preserved flies. Additionally there is a leaf included at one end. Copal is similar to amber, but younger in age. This copal is from the tree species Hymenaea verrucosa and believed to be from the Quaternary Period. Polished on all sides, what's not to like about prehistoric bugs in Copal?
