Fossilized tree sap containing inclusions of well preserved insects. There are many well preserved flying and wood boring insects. Copal is similar to amber, but younger in age. This copal is from the tree species Hymenaea verrucosa and believed to be from the Quaternary Period. Polished on all sides.
