Red Garnet crystal 7mm wide in a matrix of grey Graphite. Small dark crystals of Dravite are also embedded in the Graphite. The Garnets from this locality have been analyzed as mostly Almandine with a touch of Pyrope in the outer layers. These make stunning specimens due to the fact that the Graphite has been removed from around the back of the Garnet allowing light to pass through the crystals, creating glowing 'red embers'.
