Partial fossil tooth from a young Mastadon (similar to a modern day elephant). This area of central Java is noted for it's abundance of fossils and is the locality where Java Man was discovered. Many of these are worn down with smooth top surface from use. This one still has high ridges and was possibly a new tooth that just came out of the gums or had not yet come out.
