A nearly 2cm vug lined with intensely blue colored Liroconite crystals. The color is outstanding with sharp undamaged crystals throughout the vug, with areas of Liroconite on other surfaces of the matrix too. Liroconite is a rare copper species with the best specimens found at this mine, which is also the type locality for the species. Wheal Gorland began operation in 1792 and the best Liroconite specimens were found in the mid 1800s. The combination of rarity and beauty keep these in high demand and they are only rarely available for sale, usually when an old collection is recycled.
