A 2.5cm area covered by crystals along with a 1cm vug lined with intensely blue Liroconite crystals. The color is outstanding and varies from an intense teal blue to a more greenish blue. There are more small vugs of crystals on the sides and back too. Liroconite is a rare copper species with the best specimens found at this mine, which is also the type locality for the species. Wheal Gorland began operation in 1792 and the best Liroconite specimens were found in the mid 1800s. The combination of rarity and beauty keep these in high demand and they are only rarely available for sale, usually when an old collection is recycled.
