A 2cm wide vug in solid Quartz loaded with intensely blue Liroconite crystals to 5mm and transparent Quartz crystals. The color is outstanding and the crystals are sharp and well formed. Liroconite is a rare copper species with the best specimens found at this mine, which is also the type locality for the species. Wheal Gorland began operation in 1792 and the best Liroconite specimens were found in the mid 1800s. The combination of rarity and beauty keep these in high demand and they are only rarely available for sale, usually when an old collection is recycled.
