Two specimens of Ozocerite. Ozocerite is a naturally-occurring odoriferous brown or black paraffin wax occurring naturally in some shales and sandstones and formerly used in candles, polishes, and electrical insulation. Chemically, ozokerite consists of a mixture of various hydrocarbons, mostly alkanes.
