Fibrous red/orange crystals of Ludlockite on matrix from a recent find at the Ojuela Mine. This was found recently by a local miner searching for Legrandite and shipped directly to me from Mexico. While most specimens showed small areas of Ludlockite, this one has a solid seam of pure Ludlockite running through the entire specimen. Ludlockite is a rare lead iron arsenite species and specimens were previously best known from the Type locality of Tsumeb. Ludlockite specimens from Tsumeb were found decades ago from a single boulder and are very hard to obtain. These recent specimens from Mexico make a once very difficult to obtain species available to collectors.
