An amazing large specimen of the State Gemstone of California, Benitoite, combined with black Neptunite crystals and Joaquinite. Firstly, the specimen starts with a large piece of blue schist 15 cm wide, upon which are patched of white Natrolite. Then, sprinkled about are lustrous black crystals of Neptunite. While Benitoite is best known from this defunct locality, Neptunite also reached it's zenith here, the world's best of species. Added to the mix are small brown crystals of the rare mineral Joaquinite. Finally, etched blue Benitoite is dotted in various locations, at least 7 areas. What a neat large specimen of so may species, a classic for the mine. Also can be part of a fluorescent collection. This specimen was recently etched from some of the last remaining mine rough and has never been offered for sale before. The mine is closed so get some now - once it's gone it's gone.
