Glassy white Datolite crystals in a vug that contrast well against the dark rock matrix. Found by a friend while prospecting in this area known for Jadeite and Rosenhahnite crystals. These were found in a single boulder that was excavated during construction work on Highway 101. This boulder produced what are considered Californias's best Datolite. Individual crystals on this specimen reach 1 cm in size and are translucent to transparent. There are partial crystals along the edges, but also some perfect crystals with tips so transparent they look like glass. Superb piece for a California suite of minerals.
