Purple blades of Axinite with transparent Quartz crystals from a find made following construction of the spillway for the New Melones Reservoir. The Axinite are partially included within the Quartz crystals. This is a good association piece as not many of the pockets had large size Quartz crystals such as this. In good overall condition with some damage to the tip of the Quartz crystal which does not detract from the overall aesthetics of this great combo specimen in which the Quartz is just the backdrop to the fine central Axinite blade.
