A 3.5 cm tall Tanzanite on a Graphite matrix. Matrix Tanzanites are hard to come by, with the vast majority of specimens being single, loose crystals - just the nature of how they are formed and mining process. The Tanzanite has superb, glassy luster and lots of gem sections within. Tanzanite is a one locality mineral and the Merelani Tanzanite mines will someday be exhausted. This is a good opportunity to get a good matrix specimen while they are still available.
