Prehnite on Tanzanite

Fine and aesthetic Tanzanite crystal with superb color and high degree of transparency. Natural and unheated. This is a great crystal for a variety of reasons: 1) the color is as good as it gets, 2) it is undamaged, 3) it has a high degree of transparency - but not only that, whereas many tanzanites only have transparency at the top, they also taper greatly towards the termination, meaning the transparency is only in a thin zone at the top. This crystal has a uniform thickness top to bottom, which makes the transparency even more impressive, and gives it significant gem value, 4) the attached clusters of yellow Prehnite add color contrast and pizzaz, and 5), it has a unique form, like 2 crystals attached side by side. I have viewed thousands of Tanzanites over the years and this one really stands out in terms of quality, aesthetics, and uniqueness. Weighs 65.8 grams.
